Mad Honey

Kratom Extract

  • Botanical name: Mitragyna speciosa
  • Behaves like opioid pain relievers, but not as strong as morphine or oxycodone.
  • Found as an extracted liquid in “shot” form or ground up in powder form.
  • Also used to manage mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.

Amanita Extract

  • Scientific name: Amanita muscaria
  • Unlike traditional magic mushrooms, amanitas do not contain the hallucinogen psilocybin.
  • Amanita extract has a chemical makeup of 3 psychoactive compounds: muscimol, ibotenic acid, and muscarine.
  • A muscimol dose of 5-7mg can induce a calming effect and alleviate anxiety. A dose of 10-15mg can trigger experiences of euphoria and vivid dreams.
  • Ibotenic acid’s psychoactive effects start at 50mg and peak at around 100mg.

7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH)

  • 7-Hydroxymitragynine is one of the two active ingredients of kratom.
  • It is traditionally used for its stimulant and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties.
  • 7-Hydroxymitragynine, also called 7-OH mitragynine or 7-OH, is an active metabolite of mitragynine, the kratom plant’s principal psychoactive alkaloid. 7-OH, although present in smaller quantities, is crucial to kratom’s pain-relieving and mood-boosting potential.
  • This substance is critical in enhancing mitragynine’s pain-relieving effects by strongly activating mu-opioid receptors, similar to morphine.

  • Botanical Name: Ephedra sinica
  • Native to Asia, primarily China, India, and Southeast Asia.
  • Pseudo comes several different forms, raw herbs: dried stems and leaves, extract: powder or liquid and synthetic: manufactured pseudoephedrine.
  • Extraction methods: solvent-based extraction (e.g., ethanol, methanol) or steam distillation.
